2011
Jay Thompson had another busy month having qualified
to represent England at the Junior Commonwealth Games. He
competed excellently, coming away with a Team Gold, Silver
in the All-Around, Gold on Parallel bars and silver on Pommel.
Jay then had to raise himself the following weekend to compete
in the British Championships which he did magnificently-achieving
a Bronze medal in the Mens All-Around, Gold on Parallel Bars,
Silver on High bar and Bronze on Floor and qualifying for
the Masters Final on Vault.
May 2011
Jay Thompson took a trip to Portugal
to take part in the International Gym Sport Tournament and
returned with both Team and Individual gold medals.
March 2011
Jay competed at the English Championships
and achieved silver medal position overall, plus gold on floor
and silver in pommel, high bar and rings.

Ceremony for Steve Jehu
|
| Exeter Gym Club’s
Senior boys coach & gymnast Steven Jehu has been honoured
for his achievements in gymnastics.
Steve, who won a silver medal for the team
gymnastic event at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October
2010, attended a ceremony at the Guildhall, in Exeter, along
with the Lord Mayor Marcel Choules and Mike Euridge.

Starlites at the UKCA National Club Championships 2011 in
Manchester
The senior cheerleading squad competed in
the UKCA National Club Championships in March and were placed
3rd in the Cheerleading section and 6th in the Pom Dance.
This was a great result due to the girls
moving up both an age band and an ability level this year.
Well done.

to the Senior Starlites who took part in the first National
Cheersport Wales Competition in Newport and came 2nd in Senior
Pom Dance and 3rd in both Senior Group Stunt and Senior Cheerleading. |

Starlites cheerleading team competed in their first competition
at the UKCA National Community Championships in Manchester
and came 5th in the Junior Pom Dance division. |
| Sapphire
Invitational
Kelsey Marratt, Morgan Cleave, Abigail Solari and Tegan Marratt
were selected to compete as part of the Devon Teams and enjoyed
an entertaining weekend of competition at this year’s
Sapphire Invitational competition. The Level 4 and Level 2
teams came third and the FIG team came second.
SW Age Groups Competition and Daphne Leeworthy Cup
Well done to Abigail Solari who came 3rd in L2, Tegan Marratt
and Liberty Holmes who came 12th & 13th in L4 at the SW
Age Groups competition and Kelsey Marratt and Morgan Cleave
who came 4th and 10th in the Daphne Leeworthy Cup.

The Exeter Girls did really well in the Devon Club
Team competition in July with the Under 9 and Under 13 teams
winning Gold and the Over 13 team winning Silver - see the
results page.

Championships- well done to Rozenn Guennou, Rebecca Moran
